Dive Safaris In Egypt
Discover the Ultimate Red Sea Adventure
Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple seeking a unique escape, or a group of friends chasing epic dive sites, our multi-day liveaboard dive safaris are the most immersive way to experience the wonders of the Red Sea.
At Sub Sinai Diving School, we organize customizable dive safaris ranging from 3 to 10 days, with options for private charters, group trips, and tailor-made itineraries based on your goals, schedule, and experience level. From the vibrant coral walls of Ras Muhammad to the remote reefs of Marsa Alam, every safari is packed with exploration, comfort, and unforgettable underwater memories.
Where You’ll Dive
Each safari can be customized to include Egypt’s most iconic diving regions:
- Ras Muhammad National Park – Located at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, this protected marine reserve offers dramatic drop-offs, massive schools of barracuda, and vibrant reef walls teeming with life. Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef are world-famous for their coral and fish density.
- Northern Sinai & Tiran – Explore legendary dive spots like Jackson Reef, Gordon Reef, and Thomas Canyon. These areas are known for their pelagic sightings, drift dives, and coral plateaus — ideal for experienced divers seeking a challenge.
- Hurghada – Ideal for shorter safaris or combined itineraries, Hurghada’s dive sites include a mix of stunning reefs and wrecks like the El Mina and Salem Express. This region is known for its accessible dive sites and calm conditions.
- Marsa Alam – For divers seeking pristine conditions and fewer crowds, Marsa Alam offers encounters with dolphins, dugongs, and reef sharks in locations like Elphinstone Reef and Dolphin House. The southern Red Sea is wild, remote, and incredibly rewarding.
- Northern Wrecks of Abu Nuhas – Nicknamed the “Ship Graveyard,” this reef off the coast of Hurghada is home to four spectacular wrecks — including the Carnatic, a 19th-century British steamship; the Giannis D, a photogenic freighter lying dramatically on its side; and the Chrisoula K. These sites offer stunning penetration opportunities and are rich in marine life.
- Thistlegorm Wreck – Often considered the best wreck dive in the world, the WWII-era Thistlegorm lies in the northern Red Sea and is a highlight of any safari itinerary. Bombed in 1941, it still contains trucks, motorcycles, rifles, and train parts — preserved in crystal-clear water and surrounded by fish.

Diving Tips
Plan Ahead: Dive safaris are incredibly popular, especially in peak seasons (April–June and September–November). Book early to secure your preferred route and cabin type.
Pack Light, Pack Smart: Most boats provide towels, bedding, and full board. Bring soft luggage, reef-safe sunscreen, your logbook, and any personal dive gear you prefer. Don’t forget seasickness tablets if you're prone.
Respect the Currents: Sites like Ras Mohamed and Brothers Islands can feature strong drifts. Be comfortable with negative entries and listen closely to your dive briefings.
Don’t Skip the Nitrox: On a safari, you'll often be diving 3–4 times per day. Using Nitrox helps extend bottom time and reduce fatigue — a worthwhile upgrade for certified divers.
Camera-Ready Reefs: From wrecks to walls, the Red Sea is an underwater photographer’s paradise. Wide-angle lenses are perfect for Thistlegorm or the Canyon, while macro fans will love the nudibranchs and shrimp in Abu Nuhas.
Stay Streamlined: Many dives involve swim-throughs, wreck penetration, or reef channels. Keep your trim tidy and fins up to avoid damaging coral or stirring up silt.
Be Crew-Friendly: Life on a boat runs smoother with kindness. A smile and a thank-you go a long way — and remember that while tips aren’t included, they’re always appreciated at the end of a great trip.
