DIVER PROPULSION VEHICLE (DPV) Specialty

If you've ever wanted to glide through the water like a secret agent, the DPV course is for you. This 1-day specialty includes two dives using Diver Propulsion Vehicles — underwater scooters that allow you to cover more ground while conserving energy and air. You’ll learn how to safely operate, maintain, and maneuver a DPV while enjoying some of Dahab’s most expansive reefs.
This course is great for adventurous divers, photographers, or anyone who wants to explore more of the Red Sea in less time.

Diving Tips

Dahab’s long fringing reef systems are perfect for DPV exploration. On a single dive, you might cruise from Mashraba to Lighthouse or even out to Eel Garden without breaking a sweat. DPVs are especially useful in slight current or for revisiting larger areas quickly — but you’ll also learn to respect the reef by keeping your buoyancy and distance in check.
